Global Green New Deal
“2008 may have been proved to be a watershed year with food and fuel crises swiftly followed by a financial one.
But we face even greater global challenges of our time. These range from climate change; poverty; job creation for the 1.3 billion unemployed people and accelerating natural resource scarcity, the need to fuel and to feed six billions, rising to nine billion people by 2050.
A new Green Deal, generating businesses in renewable energies; clean tech ventures, sustainable agriculture, conservation and the intelligent management of the planet's ecosystems and nature-based infrastructure is already underway.
Accelerating this transition is at the core of the Green Economy initiative and the best bet for global, sustainable wealth and employment generation for 1.3 billion poor people.”

Dr. K. M. Cherian is passionate about the adoption of this theme for the conference as it illustrates a vital link between
- The aims for the development of the conference venue, Frontier Mediville
- The humanitarian agenda of the conference
- Cardiac specialists involved in tackling the most prolific of modern diseases and offering competitive yet compassionate cardiac care in an affordable manner and
- Addressing a global concern on environmental degradation and the vital rejuvenation.
Significantly the inauguration of these events at Frontier Mediville will coincide with the launch of India’s first National Medical Science Park, which is set to revolutionize the research and application of Basic Sciences in all spheres of Healthcare and Wellness.
Apart from activities in healthcare, research and education, this all-inclusive medical village project is also committed to promoting and demonstrating environmental consciousness in all spheres of its activities. To mark the occasion, individual Peepal tree saplings will be planted by respective dignitaries as a symbolic gesture towards the “greening” and protection of our planet. An evergreen ‘Peepal Avenue’, dedicated to stalwarts from all walks of life, will stand as testimony for the next 2 millennia (life-span of the Peepal Tree). The Peepal trees are highly medicinal in nature and also absorb vast amounts of carbon dioxide, thus ideally reducing our carbon footprint in a systematic manner.
Our commitment to the environment has also been demonstrated through practices such as an active carbon credit program, ozone layer conservation, best ecological practices, medicinal plants garden, a forest of sandalwood trees and similar groves of specific trees, compost generation through sericulture practices, biogas production etc. Thousand of saplings have already been planted and work has been generated among the rural population living around the project site.
We invite you to partake in this joyous yet solemn affirmation of our pledge to protect the planet we live in through our mutual efforts to make the planet a healthier and more enduring place to live and prosper. |
